OUR ESTATE

The historic Propriété Veillon Au Cloître represents the beating heart of SIMONIUS heritage, a wine patrimony that spans centuries in the splendid region of Aigle. These monumental buildings, which belonged to the Abbey of Saint-Maurice and have remained unchanged since the 17th century, preserve winemaking traditions passed down for over two hundred years by the de Veillon family and their descendants. The historic vineyards, among the oldest in French-speaking Switzerland, benefit from a unique terroir of glacial origin on the steep terraces of Aigle Castle hill. This exceptional territory offers ideal climatic conditions that allow optimal grape ripening, from which the excellent wines of the SIMONIUS selection are born. Every corner of the property tells a story of passion and dedication, where ancient monastic wisdom merges with contemporary wine innovation. The Simonius family, co-owner of this enological treasure, jealously preserves the authenticity of a heritage that represents the very essence of Alpine viticulture. From ancient cellars to modern winemaking techniques, the property perfectly embodies the balance between respect for tradition and pursuit of excellence that characterizes every bottle of SIMONIUS Fine Swiss Wine.
